Workshop led by Erin Bidlake
There are days (months and sometimes years) when no amount of sun salutations can soothe a heavy heart or ease a troubled mind. When this happens we might ask what yoga has to offer beyond an asana practice.
How can yoga help when we face the death of a loved one, the end of a marriage, the loss of our livelihood, or the pain of illness and growing older? Beyond asana, how can we use yoga to work with feelings of anxiety, depression, grief, and stress?
Drawing on the ancient wisdom of yoga, Erin will guide participants through a practical discussion of how we can use yoga to make sense of pain and suffering. She will then introduce key practices for working with and even transcending suffering. Practices such as mindfulness, non-attachment, and acceptance are powerful tools for difficult times..
