A Winter Solstice celebration led by Diana Buxban

Winter Solstice marks a pivotal point in the cycle of nature where winter begins, and the night is the longest. Following a night of more than 12 hours of darkness, the Sun grows stronger in the sky, and the days are longer.

This is a night for renewal, a time to share with friends and family, aligning ourselves with this moment which has been observed by cultures across the globe for more than 6,000 years.

The candlelit Yin practice aims to create a safe space where we can contemplate the gentle rhythms of deep winter, at the auspicious time of the Solstice.

We are following that with a seasonal vegetarian meal, lovingly cooked, meant to heat the body and nourish the heart, as Ayurvedic tradition dictates for this time of year.

You’re welcome to bring in your favourite vegetarian dishes and share them with friends.

Wear white clothes if you can.
