Workshop led by Laura Baker
The word solstice means “sun standing still”, and winter solstice has long been recognized as a time to celebrate the gradual return of the light. It’s an opportunity to plant seeds of intention that will take root and grow in the new year. However, winter solstice also marks the beginning of winter and the transition into a season of hibernation. It’s a time for quiet reflection, for slowing down and finding peace in the darkness so that we can rejuvenate in the spring.
During this candlelit evening we’ll discuss the symbols and history of the winter solstice, enjoy an hour long gentle slow flow practice, followed by a solstice inspired Yoga Nidra with time for journaling at the end.
Participants are encouraged to wear white, and bring a notebook and a pen.
