Yoga is about connecting with a higher source, and it is from this state that transformation and magic in life occurs.Exploring consciousness and ancient human history has been a passion for Tara since she was young. She never consciously sought out yoga, but yoga seemed to always be placed at her feet. Her first beginnings into this field of study was in 1997, when upon the nudging of a friend she walked into the Rama Lotus Yoga Centre for a Kundalini yoga class. Several years later in 2001, while attending her regular Saturday morning yoga class, she was presented with an offer to Manage the studio. And as destiny would have it, the offer to purchase the business fell at her feet 6 years later; an opportunity she embraced. Although she regularly enjoys several styles of yoga, it is the practice of Kundalini yogi that keeps her fulfilled.Tara is a certified KRI Kundalini Yoga teacher, and has also completed training in Ashtanga Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, Radiant Child Yoga, and Shake Your Soul Yoga Dance. She is trained in SomaSoul, as a Somatic Expressive Therapy Practitioner through the Leven Institute, which integrates expressive arts, body psychotherapy, mindfulness and somatics to foster healing and transformation. She is most passionate about her new field of study in Jyotish (Vedic astrology) through the NW Institute of Vedic Sciences. Tara’s teaching emphasis is about self acceptance and releasing striving and resistance so we can settle into being, in present moment awareness. How the body feels in any position or meditation is more important than what it looks like.
