Monique values the practical application of a committed yoga practice: over time, we simply choose to become more self-aware, to live with more integrity, and to take better care of our well-being. We choose to embrace the healing and transformational power of yoga. And we find space to allow ourselves to live with more lightness in our heart. Monique’s journey with yoga got going in 2002 when she began her study of Buddhism. She also started attending Ashtanga and Iyengar classes, vipassana retreats, and other workshops.Since moving to Ottawa in 2010, Monique has completed her 200-hour RYT Hatha yoga teacher training with Rama Lotus; two Yin yoga teacher trainings: with Joe Barnett and with Louise Cameron; a Vinyasa teacher training with Seane Corn; and a Trauma Sensitive yoga teacher training with Brendon Abram. She has also completed workshop trainings with Todd Norian (Ashaya yoga); Joe Barnett (Yin/Yang Fundamentals); Anodea Judith (Chakras); and Isaac Cristoveanu/Studio 269 (Anatomy).
Monique has also completed a mentorship program and assisted in three 200-hour RYT yoga teacher trainings with Louise Cameron, Studio 269.
