Leah found her way to yoga through eastern philosophy and martial arts. Over the years, she found herself becoming an advocate for the benefits of yoga among her friends and acquaintances. Eager to learn more and to share more effectively, she completed her alignment-based Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in Vancouver in 2014.
In a typical class, you can expect Leah’s playful personality to shine with unrehearsed “jokes” that are scattered within a well-rounded yoga practice. Along with providing a led practice, Leah aims to foster community and a learning environment in her classes. Her students appreciate her precise instructions and explanations of body movements, her friendly approach, and her attentiveness to each student as an individual.
Leah loves to teach all styles of hatha yoga, particularly power, beginner hatha, yin, and prenatal. She is passionate about providing a safe environment, and applies her educational background in biosciences and biomedical engineering, along with her regular yoga practice and study, to help her students better understand their bodies and themselves. This passion for safe and effective yoga led Leah to start her informative yoga blog, and to be a founding board member of the Yoga Alignment Association of Canada (YAAC), a first association of its kind providing certification standards for safe and effective yoga instruction.
