Lucy began practicing Yoga six years ago, but it wasn't until a year or two of weekly classes and her move to Ottawa that she became truly inspired in her practice. Registering for a beginner class at a community centre, she was astounded by the vitality of her instructor, a petite elderly woman of about 75, who possessed such a grace and strength in her practice that Lucy was hooked.
It wasn't long before Lucy began working at a Yoga studio and immersing herself in a daily practice, trying to soak in as many different styles as she could between work and school. In the Fall of 2009 she traveled to the Kripalu Yoga Centre in Massachusetts to do a month-long 200 hour Hatha Intensive Teacher Training. It was a life altering experience and re-affirmed for Lucy her love of Yoga and ignited a passion to teach.
When teaching Lucy aims to have students come into their own bodies, to let go of what postures might look like, and instead focus on the internal reactions of the body. Her classes are lighthearted and playful as she endeavours to create a space wherein students can feel supported and uplifted in the exploration and expansion of their limits.
