For every force exerted, there is an equal and opposite counter force. When using force in your practice or in everyday life, you are going to run out of steam due to that counter force. When coming from a place of True Power, where Mind, Body, and Breath work together rather then against each other, where Intention, Attention and Action align to create the reality that is your True Potential, there is nothing you cannot overcome. Join Laurie Howe and Mark Laham as they take you through an inspirational 30 hour intensive and take your teaching, your practice and your Power to the next level. Prepare to challenge yourself mentally, physically and spiritually.
Through this intensive training, you will gain profound knowledge and tools that empower you as you dive into asana, meditation, practice teaching, and self inquiry specifically designed to access your full potential. An intense hands-on opportunity for those who understand that a yoga teacher's deepest responsibility – and ultimate reward – is the ability to transform the lives of individuals seeking physical and spiritual growth and leading them to a healthier state of existence. In these five days you will learn how to skillfully weave technical knowledge and possibility into your teaching style and your own life. This Power Yoga Teaching Intensive will allow you to feel confident in your ability to teach students safely and effectively, and will give you tremendous insight into the world of yoga. The training is for teachers, aspiring teachers as well as for students who want to deepen their understanding of yoga as a practice and a way of living.

Laurie Howe was certified at Kripalu Yoga Centre in 2005 and has been teaching yoga at the Rama Lotus Yoga Centre ever since. Her primary focus is Anusara Yoga with Todd Norian, Anne Green and John Friend and she continues to study with them. She trained with David Swenson and Mark Darby in the Ashtanga Primary Series, Level One Power Yoga with Baron Baptiste. Today, Laurie is an inspirational yoga teacher in the community of Ottawa. She leads her yoga classes with a sense of adventure, patience and humour.

Mark Laham, innovative yoga instructor and seminar leader, teaches the ancient wisdoms of the East combined with modern principles of the West to individuals from all arenas of life. Through yoga classes, development workshops and corporate seminars on stress management, he motivates his students to succeed in all aspects of their lives. Mark was introduced to the Yin practice while experimenting with long held postures in his home practice. He quickly recognized the benefit of spending a little more time in each pose rather then jumping quickly from one to the next. However it wasn't until he came across Paul Grilley's work on connective tissue that he realized that the key concept that was really missing from the North American approach to yoga was the "letting go of resistance" concept. Rather than always trying to control and direct the stretches, you learn how to relax and accept what is happening without resistance. At the same time, his approach to the Yin trains us how to focus our attention, and direct our intentions, proving to be a valuable tool for everyday life.
